China

In light of the Olympics being held in Beijing this year, we are studying China. As you know, we are studying all of the countries at EPCOT, but the timing for China is NOW, so off we went :-) The kids had their "Passports" signed in Chinese, we watched the movie about China, saw the Great Wall (in the movie), watched Chinese Acrobats (they were GREAT!), and, on the way home, we ordered some Chinese take-out. Of course, we have other things planned for China as well-- books to read, finding China on the map and globe, reading The Story About Ping along with Five in a Row Volume 1 and Homeschool Share. We did that one when DS#1 was in kindergarten and he still remembers it :-) I think we might also try some Tai Chi. But, this was our opening day to China, and I think it was memorable for all of us.

Maybe the boys thought Kung Fu Panda was a true story?
