Magical Book Light

We have a reluctant reader at our house. He's really just lacking confidence- he tests well, and reads fairly well when "forced" to, but would NEVER choose to read in his free time. I bought his older brother a book light, and my reluctant reader asked for one, too. At first, I said no. He goes to bed earlier than his brother, and he'd never use it to read- I could see him having imaginary light saber fights in bed with his book light, not using it to read. So, he saved his allowance and bought it himself. And guess what! He reads with it every night! They both go to bed at their appointed times, then I let them read in bed for 1/2 and hour... who'd have thought something so simple would get my reluctant reader to beg to read?! It's almost like magic ;-)
